Cash in on My Wagering Blunders
by Harold on March 7th, 2010
I have been gaming on the net or at real life casinos for many years. I have been taught, the habit can take a hold of you and you will not even notice it till you are beaten. Notably if you are on a run. I have been through countless hundreds of dollars in only a little period of time and at times, I still go a bit too far. It feels like you are only enjoying yourself up until you make a decision to track your losses and the guilt settles in, and then you keep advising yourself "I can likely win it back" repeatedly. It does not work. Then you get queasy in your stomach and the more you try the quicker you spend.
When you discover that you are up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to relinquish, do not convince yourself, "well only 1 more" over and over again, trust me, this plan barely ever functions. Say you plan on gambling on slots, keep a number set aside prior to starting your action. DO NOT exceed that threshold, no matter how appealing. If you happen to earn, put that in a different pot. Don’t spend your payouts at any cost. Once you have played through your original set cutoff, stop. Leave, whether it is on the net or in a land based gambling den, don’t stick at the tables or machines. Make sure to remember, there will be other days, other times. Obviously, this process is able to work for any casino game that you gamble on, be it bingo, poker, video poker, keno, twenty-one or any other game.
Remember, wagering is supposed to be enjoyable not burdensome, sickening work! If you are not having fun yourself, you don’t belong at the casinos. If you cannot afford the hit, do not even begin.
