Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den gambling is illegal. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel complex that contains many comforts aside from the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
