Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not permitted. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect location, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are allegedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most borders.
The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that highlights numerous conveniences in addition to the gambling hall, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
